Meet Tasha Grimm
You’ve seen her dance for Ballet Nebraska at the Joslyn, and before that in the Omaha Theater Ballet. And you’ve seen her photo in Ballet Nebraska ads, news stories, and even on our billboards!
Now, meet dancer Natasha Grimm (Tasha to her friends) in this informal Q&A, the first installment in our ongoing “Dancer Focus” feature:
What do you like to do for fun?
I absolutely love being around my friends & family no matter what we‘re doing! I also like girly stuff like shopping and lying out, but my newest hobby is sailing on a sailboat!
What are your favorite dance roles, and why?

Favorite role: Tasha (right) and Alicia Taubert as the Gossips in Omaha Theater Ballet's February 2008 production of La Fille Mal Gardée
My favorite role was actually being a Gossip in Omaha Theater Ballet’s production of La Fille Mal Gardée, because the role was focused on finding my character rather than just thinking about the technique. I really learned how to portray a character without getting caught up in just the dancing!
Have you ever had an injury? How did you deal with it?
Yes, I’ve had an injury. It was really frustrating because I wanted it to heal much more quickly but there wasn’t anything I could do but to R.I.C.E. (Rest, Ice, Compression & Elevate) I don’t do well with resting, I like to GO GO GO!! =)
What part of the upcoming Ballet Nebraska season are you looking forward to the most?
I’m looking forward to the beginning of the season — I can’t wait for a fresh start! I love new and exciting things, and that’s exactly how Ballet Nebraska is going to be!
What’s your favorite local restaurant? What do you order?
My favorite restaurant is Matsu Sushi. My favorite roll there is the Caterpillar Roll, because it has avocado on it (my favorite, I always crave avocado!) and it’s adorably cute it looks JUST like a green caterpillar!
