There is nothing scarier than a blood shortage. Dracula and his Vampire Brides teamed up on October 24 with the American Red Cross to make a donation to the blood bank – rather than a withdrawal. Ballet Nebraska participated in the “Dance for a Chance” fundraiser for Youth Emergency Services — an event supporting homeless youth — on Saturday, August 27th. BN ballet master Matthew Carter was paired with celebrity contestant Haley Herold, Miss Nebraska USA 2011, and BN artistic director Erika Overturff was paired with celebrity contestant Jim Flannery, head coach of Creighton Women’s Basketball. In addition to the celebrity dance contest, the evening included a reception, silent auction items, raffle prizes, and a special dance appearance by Ballet Nebraska. For more information, click here.

Are you ready to SWING? Ballet Nebraska will join the River City Theater Organ Society (RCTOS) for a performance this Sunday, August 7, at 3 pm at the Rose Theater. Support from the Mutual of Omaha Foundation, the Lincoln Financial Foundation, the Nebraska Arts Council, and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment is helping bring Ballet Nebraska’s production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ to the Rose Theater stage. Among those benefitting from the donors’ support are students at area schools, who have the opportunity to receive free group admission to a special one-hour version of  A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
